Treatment sessions are typically 50-minutes in length. The first session involves an intake and you will be provided with an introduction to psychotherapy.
The intake session involves discussing your therapeutic goals, current symptoms, state of functioning, relationships, lifestyle, and mental health history.
Dr. Lipschitz will help set therapeutic goals and determine a treatment plan. Psychotherapy can be short- or long-term depending on one’s goals and complexities.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can access the treatment?
Treatment is available for Ontario residents and offered virtually or via phone at this time. Virtual sessions are conducted via videoconferencing through a confidential program.
Are virtual sessions as effective as in-person sessions?
Much research has been conducted in recent years on the efficacy of virtual modes of psychotherapy delivery. The data indicates that virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person therapy for most issues.
How do virtual sessions work?
Once your appointment is booked, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to connect for the session. The online platform is confidential and secure and complies with the security standards/regulations contained in the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
What are the fees?
The hourly rate for a Clinical Psychologist is $250. We also offer reduced sliding-scale rates, based on need, to a proportion of clients.
Are the fees covered?
Psychological services provided by Clinical Psychologists might be partially or fully covered by extended insurance plans through work or school. We suggest speaking with your insurance provider to inquire about your coverage. Psychological services are also considered a medical expense in Ontario and may therefore be tax-deductible.
